Where we work
Montgomery County, Howard County and the District
We work a deliberately tight radius from Gaithersburg. It is the reason we know which village committee needs the drawing, which county ties its tree law to a sediment permit, and which ground will not drain.
DEL Landscapes has been based in Gaithersburg since 1993 and works across Montgomery County, parts of Howard County, and Washington, DC. We do not claim a service area we cannot reach properly — the list below is where our own crews work, not a map drawn to look impressive.
The rules genuinely differ across that line. Maryland requires a Licensed Tree Expert to direct commercial roadside tree work and a state permit before anything in the right-of-way is touched. Montgomery County ties its Forest Conservation Law to whether a project needs a sediment control permit. Columbia runs on village covenants. The District measures protected trees in inches of circumference and will not permit the removal of the largest ones at all. Each page below leads with what actually governs work in that place.

Gaithersburg
Our yard is on Airpark Road. Gaithersburg is the one town where we are usually on site the same week you call.
Read morePotomac
Potomac properties are big enough that the landscape has to be composed as a whole, not decorated bed by bed.
Read moreBethesda
Bethesda gardens are small, overlooked and full of very large old trees. All three facts shape what can actually be built.
Read moreRockville
Rockville is its own municipality inside Montgomery County, so a job here can answer to two sets of rules.
Read moreOlney
Olney sits on the edge of the county's rural reserve, which gives it bigger gardens and far more standing timber than its neighbours.
Read moreSilver Spring
Much of Silver Spring was built before anyone designed for stormwater, and the gardens still show it.
Read moreGermantown
Most Germantown properties sit inside a homeowners association, and the association usually has a view on what you are about to build.

Columbia
In Columbia the design conversation starts with the covenants, because the village architectural committee sees the plan before the ground does.
Read moreEllicott City
Ellicott City is built on a hillside above a river, and no landscape decision here is separable from what water does next.
Read moreClarksville & River Hill
Clarksville and River Hill properties are large, and a good deal of the ground you might want to plant is spoken for by a septic field.
